BioForge
PrototypeAn AI-assisted biomimicry workspace for turning biological mechanisms into concrete engineering concepts.
Last updated Apr 21, 2026
Early prototype
This project is a working prototype — the core concept is proven but it is not yet production-ready.
The problem
Biomimicry research is slow and fragmented. Teams need a way to explore organisms, compare principles, and translate biological strategies into engineering directions without doing every step of the synthesis by hand.
What’s being built
A canvas for working through biological mechanisms, a searchable organism library, saved syntheses that keep the reasoning attached to the result, and an assistant that helps translate a biological strategy into engineering language. Built on the house stack — pnpm workspace monorepo, Express 5 API, PostgreSQL with Drizzle, Zod validation, OpenAPI-generated client hooks — deployed to Azure Container Apps.
Latest update
The prototype covers the core loop: explore organisms, compare principles, and save a synthesis with its reasoning intact.
Current milestone
Canvas, organism library, and saved syntheses working in prototype
